She's Back
The other week I took a squirrel with head trauma from our neighbourhood to WILD ARC, a wildlife rehabilitation centre out in Metchosin. She had been blown off something high and landed head first, wandering around all night in the high winds and pouring rain incoherent. In the morning she came to Debbie, Carrie and Myself in terrible shape. We tried to capture her but she was too scared. But she kept seeking human contact and eventually settled at the feet of Ernie and Myself as we worked on the windows outside. After some gentle coaxing we were able to get her into one of our dog crates.
After a few phone calls to check up on her progress in the last couple of weeks I received a call yesterday stating that she was good enough to return to my yard. I had offered to come and pick her up so I grabbed the dog kennel and went to get her.
This is a screenshot of her darting from the kennel after an hour drive in my shaky car, in darkness from a blanket so she would be less anxious. Let's hope she can make it out there!

Waiting for a Friend
Cole showed up to help with the bathroom cabinet handles, but not before some yoga in the crisp frosty backyard!
