Barcelona :: World Cup

After being in downtown Vancouver for the Gold Medal Hockey game for
the Olympics, Jason and myself wondered how the World Cup Finals with
the people of Barcelona would compare... Spanish people are nuts about
Football, thats all I can really say.

Sagrada Familia

A church that stands alone in the world in it's beauty and grandeur,
Sagrada Familia is a source of pride for the people of Barcelona, and
one of only two churches i'd go back to see again. (The other being
the Vatican)

Ibiza 2

Pictures here are from our trip to Ibiza Town's Fort on July 8th, the
massive fortified old city sits atop the hill overlooking the bay of
Ibiza. it was around 33 degrees that day, and for us, extremely hot,
little did we know in a weeks time we'd be in 48 degree weather in
Morocco.

Ibiza

I've begun going through my pictures, and have only managed to get
through one day of pictures (Our first day on Ibiza). Here are some
new images not seen yet, and a couple ones already shared but given
the proper time in photoshop to adjust the color.

Merry Christmas

Nice to be home for the holidays! A bit surreal being in this
environment but couldn't be happier to be with family and friends
again. I'm having a bit of an issue with my sleeping pattern from the
time change, but afternoon naps are nice.

So starts the tedious work of sorting an editing all my pictures and
video in the coming weeks/months. i'll be sharing everything on here
to continue growing the lasting memory this blog has become for
myself. Hope you've all enjoyed the journey with me.

Home

Well the day has finally come where i get to say thanks for following
along in my amazing journey, it's been a beautiful six months and i'm
happy to say i've traveled around the world. This has been something
i've been wanting to do since i graduated high school, but for some
reason i guess i wasn't ready or willing to make the sacrifices to
make it happen until now.

This experience has really made me look at life differently, I've
always been the kind of person to wish i'd done some things different
in my life, always wanting to go back and fix the things that changed
or altered the way i was headed, the way i treated someone, ended a
friendship, to stop myself from acting a certain way, or decisions
that were ill judged at the time...but i realize now that everything
and everyone in my life have impacted me in a way that gave me the
direction to do the things i'm doing now, and if those things i've
wished to change didn't happen i might not be where i am today... and
i'm happy where my life is now...

To step outside of my "normal" was a big leap for me, especially for 6
months. Having never been east of Calgary or south of Texas my
traveling experience was slim to none, i was an island boy and happy
to stay that way for the most of my life..now however, i can say that
i'm cultured, and educated about other people and how beautiful the
human spirit really is, but I'm incredibly proud of where i live.

When i come back people are going to ask me how amazing a certain
place was, or what my favorite part of the trip had been, i hope they
also ask me about how kind and giving everyone is in each country i've
been to. People that have nothing to offer but a smile, or to share
what little drink or food with us ...how hard they work to
survive...or how much family and friends mean to them..that's what
i'll remember the most, that's the lesson i'll take back with me from
this journey.

I'm lucky enough to be surrounded in life by a wonderful group of
supportive friends and family, something i've missed being away.
Meeting new people is a rewarding and a special part of traveling, but
the relationships that you share with your loved ones through email
isn't the same. That's the only part of my life i've missed being
away, being with those you care about.

I can't wait to see everyone...

Kyle

Too Good To Be True

Well, after seeing a week with no rain, we had a massive downpour this
afternoon, raining just as hard as the torrential downpours on Phi Phi
and Goa, and their calling for more rain tomorrow. Our bad luck of
rain follows us wherever we seem to head to. Thankful for the last
week of sunshine though, was able to get out on the beach for the past
few days.

Looking Back

I've been going through my photo's that i've been editing and sharing
along the way so far this trip, I've compiled and decided to share
with you again my favorites from this adventure. Enjoy

As for Sihanoukvilla, Cambodia, it's a nice place if you're looking
for sunshine on the beach and after a string of rain and bad weather
really since Goa, India... this is a welcome place to soak up the rays
and try to get this tan back...
